Paint Correction
Machine polishing to remove swirl marks, scratches and oxidation — restoring depth, clarity and gloss to your paintwork. Three options to suit every level of correction needed.
Restore Your Paintwork
Paint correction is the process of removing defects from your vehicle's clear coat using machine polishing. Swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and water spotting are permanently removed — not hidden under a wax or sealant.
Auto Reflect uses a three-stage system, letting us match the level of correction precisely to your vehicle's condition. Whether your car needs a light enhancement or an intensive multi-stage correction, the result is the same: deeper gloss, better clarity, and paint that looks the way it should.
Correction Services
Each option is designed for a specific level of paint condition. We'll assess your vehicle and recommend the right service — or discuss your goals if you're preparing for ceramic coating.
Our Enhancement Polish is designed to dramatically improve your vehicle's gloss and clarity without the time and cost of a full paint correction. This service focuses on refining the paintwork to remove light surface haze, minor swirl marks and dullness, restoring depth and shine to tired paint. Using professional machine polishing techniques with a fine finishing polish and soft pad combination, we enhance the overall appearance while preserving as much clear coat as possible. An enhancement polish typically achieves up to 30–40% defect improvement — ideal for well-maintained vehicles, newer cars with light wash marring, or anyone wanting maximum gloss without full correction. Not designed to remove deeper scratches or heavy swirl marks.
Single stage machine polishing corrects moderate paint defects including swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and water spotting. A focused polishing process refines the paintwork to restore depth and clarity, delivering a noticeable transformation. The most popular choice for vehicles showing the signs of regular use.
Our most thorough paint correction, using a two-stage polishing process to tackle deep swirl marks, heavier scratches, oxidation and more significant paint defects. Stage one removes the bulk of defects with a cutting compound; stage two refines the surface with a finishing polish to achieve maximum gloss, clarity and reflectivity. Recommended for vehicles with neglected paintwork or before a ceramic coating application.
The Process
Every paint correction at Auto Reflect follows a careful, methodical process to achieve the best possible result without compromising your clear coat.
The vehicle is thoroughly decontaminated before any polishing begins — removing tar, iron fallout and bonded contamination that could cause further scratching.
Under specialist lighting, the paintwork is inspected to identify defect severity, paint thickness and hardness — determining the correct polish and pad combination.
Using professional dual-action and rotary polishers, each panel is worked methodically to remove defects and restore gloss — checked under lighting throughout.
Once corrected, a sealant or ceramic coating is recommended to lock in the results and protect the freshly refined surface for months or years to come.

Frequently Asked
The best way is to get in touch — we'll ask about your vehicle and its condition, and can advise based on what you describe. If you're unsure, our Single Stage Correction is the most popular choice for daily-driven vehicles and delivers a significant, visible improvement for most cars.
Paint correction removes defects within the clear coat layer. Swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and water spotting can be safely corrected. Deeper scratches that penetrate through the clear coat into the base coat or primer cannot be removed by polishing — these require touch-up or respray. We'll always be upfront about what's achievable on your specific vehicle.
It depends on the stage and vehicle size. An Enhancement Polish typically takes half a day; Single Stage Correction a full day; 2 Stage Correction may take a full day or more for larger or more heavily marked vehicles. We'll give you an accurate timeframe when you book.
It's highly recommended. Paint correction restores the surface; ceramic coating locks in those results and protects against future contamination, UV damage and light swirls for years. Many clients choose to combine a Single Stage or 2 Stage Correction with a ceramic coating for the best possible long-term finish.
Avoid automatic car washes — the brushes re-introduce swirl marks. Use a two-bucket hand wash method with a quality shampoo and microfibre wash mitt, or use a touchless car wash. A ceramic coating significantly reduces maintenance burden and keeps the paint protected between washes.
